Anyone know how to make the Hello Kitty Granny Square?

I LOVE it!  It looks fab! Are you planning to make the bag on the picture?  I'm just salivating wishing I could buy as many of these darling Japanese books that I want. 

I'm going to try using an international chart on this little Hello Kitty pattern:

OK, here's my first attempt at the Hello Kitty granny square. I'm not so good at crocheting yet, so please be kind. LOL

OMG it is SO cute! I can't tell you are a beginner at all. Now I am envious....I wanna make one. 

If I missed it, forgive me, but wha tother patterns were in the book besides the square?

Other crochet patterns were: a purse, coin purse and two kind ugly larger cell phone cozies, some pompom HKs and the rest was knitting patterns.

so i visited the site with all the patterns and started what i thought was the bag, well after i attached the strap etc i found out that i had actually made the coin purse thing  ::)oops! well it's a cute little bag now


also i had no red or green yarn :/ so i made the pink bow instead by connecting two "ears"

CUTE!!!!! A coin purse size bag is perfect for a night out with the gals when you don't want  to haul a huge purse out.

Cute coin purse Ryoruki! On the subject of the books... I work for a library and did some searching in the worldcat database. I looked up all of the knit books on Hello kitty (there are about 9 or 10). There are only a couple of libraries in the US that have them, but I bet any interlibrary loan office would be able to get them. Or at least a copy of the pages you wanted (for a fee). This might be easier for anyone willing to drive the ILL people at your library crazy.

That's a good idea (I do it all the time with craft books, and just copy all of the pages that I like), The link above has 53 pages to go through so is that the book you're talking about? I didn't see the square pattern, but there were a lot, if I can only figure out the international part, all of those symbols scare me.

that website is pretty easy to figure out for hte most part, i think every single pattern has a chart and then there are tables next to the charts with the amount of stitches in each row! :)they also have the row numbers written on the chart
