Anyone know how to make the Hello Kitty Granny Square?

I saw it in a book for sale on eBay. Sadly, the book is fifty bones. So, I may never get to make them. But they are so phreakin' cool.

If the book is "Hello Kitty knitwear and goods" (I searched hello kitty crochet and that was the first thing that came up and is $50) those granny squares are crocheted with the hello kitty image sewn on, it would appear.

It was listed as "Japanese Pattern Book Hello Kitty Knit Crochet Pom Pom" on eBay. I broke down and bought it! God help me and my Hello Kitty addiction.

It's actually illegal to post patterns from the book unless the copyright has expired on it (which would mean the book would have to be 30+ ish years old).

Plus it is in Japanese. But the patterns also use a chart which is universal.
