Well I HAD to make these cute patterns.  The international charts aren't as hard as I thought.  I just get mixed up with what to do when I get to the end of each round.  I'm used to just crocheting in spirals, and I'm not so adept at joining up the rounds.

Here are my Kitties:

I still have to add a bow or cherries to the Big Kitty. Oh yeah and maybe a zipper and the strap....

Here's a closeup of the granny square. I love it!

I made it into a little pouch for my daughter I made a back with rows of single crochets:

Thanks!  I ended up with some extra stitches on the blue border, but I compensated somehow.  Now I want to try that flower square and maybe make the cute tote bag.

Thank goodness I have  a 5 year old daughter to justify this Hello Kitty adorableness.  I think I might be just a little too old to actually use an HK tote.

i had a go at it, my right ear was a bit off to the right, so i worked out i had somehow lost 2 stiches from the side of the head and got an extra 2 stiches between the ears. plus wonky ear.i wasnt sure about the crochet 2 sc together, that was new to me. i think i did it ok. but who knows.
yep never done anything like this,  it was fun. will try again tomorrow.
i thank olenka for her help. i am new at charts. yeah i just want to make em for my daughet. i wont be selling or anything. dont worry.
when iget my square right, and find the camera will post.
love the other colours. blue looks nice.
a coin purse is a cute idea.
how do you do the flower and bow?
is there instructions for the actual bag?

You don't have to have a 5 year old to justify HK. Look at all the adults that swoon over their favorite NASCAR drivers (me) or their favorite comic books....having big super S's on the back windshield of their cars. Its no different. Besides, HK is cute....how could you NOT like her? My hubby likes that penguin...what's his name? Myself, I like Chococat. I had a pet rabbit that I named ChocoBunny, and I'm 26 (hubby is 37)! Hehe.

Here's mine... This was my second attempt at any kind of granny square. I must admit it was rather hard for me. I'm still a new hooker.  Don't laugh at the squished face. I must have been smoking crack when I did this. Oh well It was just a practice one.

Well, I love it! Everyone crochets a bit bifferent, I think. So everthing is unique.

I had to play with the pattern a bit myself.

This is not an easy granny square!

I added stitch counts for each round on my pattern.  That helped me keep track and be sure I wasn't adding stitches.  Then when I got ready to do the ears and the contrasting border, I counted from the center stitch on the top of her head.

For some reason I had to fudge a bit on the outer rounds, but it worked out okay.  I'll get the hang of it though, because I already promised to make my niece a little tote for her Hello Kitty themed birthday. (She'll be 3)

orangegurll yours is fab!  I love it in pink, I just got hot pink yarn today. I'm going to ust the hot pink on the face border and lighter pink for the granny square part.

hey orangegurl, looks nice.yeah iused a hairpin as a stitch marker so i didnt add stitches, having only one stitch or two at the sides was strange but it turned out ok around that area. my ears were not right. i guess i should count from middle of head good idea IamSusie.
I will be happy to just make a square successfully.
busy days. will try soon. cyndi
