they're just the international standards
ovals = chains
x = single
T = half double
T with \ = double
T wiht \\ = triple
v = increase
^ = decrease

I mostly just have 8ply acrylic to try, should i use a size 4mm hook or smaller?
I guess I should just give it a try tomorrow.
Supposed to be asleep!
One more question, does it start with chain 5 and join them in a loop and than sc around that?
please excuse my ignorance.
cyndi

edit, iam not sleeping, started did 5 chain, clicked go around that not make a loop! and guess what it is working. the colours isnt pure white, sort of light light greyish white, but its just a sampler.
i cant believe its working. lol i am happy. thanks everyone. cyndi

Ah! How cool! Thanks for the graph. I am just hoping that you don't get in trouble for posting it. Isn't it kinda against the copywrite to post it? I really hope not.

I just started a new job, so it is taking away from my crocheting/knitting time. I am hoping on one of my days off I can sit down and make a square. I think it is SO adorable!

BTW, I have tried to access the Shop Crafty link, and it keeps giving me an error message. Is there something wrong on my end, or is it Craftster?

TheCrochetPirate you brough up an important topic. I'm also worried that it is against copywrite to post it.
 I haven't scanned that graph myself, I found it on Chinese server that hosts pictures.
 I have weary mixed feelings about using patterns I find there. On one side I know it is not legal and unfair towards people who by those books; On the other I know that there is no whey I could afford buying any of the foreign (that includes those in English)  craft books, finding them fore free is weary tampting by posting them in here I'm putting all of you in my crime.
 I also feel bad keeping only fore myself something that other people need. It is a difficult problem of double morality fore me. If moderators ore any of you think that my behaviour is unacceptable I will remove those pictures from here and never post anything that can cause troubles.
I have belief in people in here and hope that everyone that use this graph will give credit to original book and will not use  Hello Kitty Granny Square fore making money.
