i just found this wonderful site........im new to crochet but with everyones help i figured out how to do a majority of the graph....im a little confused though when you get to the ears though........do you do the ears and then work around the whole thing in a seperate color or do you do one ear then new color next ear then new color......does that make sence Huh would love to figure it out my daughter loves hello kitty and xmas is just around the corner

simplysweet- You do the whole face and one ear then you fasten off and use a new yarn of the same face color to do the other ear.

After you have all that done, you get a contrasting color and go all the way around the whole thing in single crochet.  I always add a few stitches from what is shown in the graph when I get to the ear area, but I try to keep it symmetric. After that you get a third color and do the granny square part.

I like to do HK's eyes low on the face, right along the center.

Good luck!

That square in her pattern is almost the same, but a little bit different.  Her ears are rounded scallops which are probably easer to stitch, but they are a little bit less kitty like.

I just happened upon this thread after finding Susie's blog and seeing the Hello Kitty square. Guess I have another project to add to my list. LOL
