Not even. It really doesn't take very long. I just kept peeking until it looked liquidy.

I love this idea, but i had a hard time cutting teh cds with sizzors. Anyone know a good trick to getting all the edges smooth, and the corners a bit rounded? When i put them in the oven, it really doesnt soften any ofthe edges.

Apparently it's safer. It may still spark ... I haven't tried. I wouldn't suggest microwaving it in the same microwave you use to cook your food. Toxic fumes aren't good for the health.

I just use scissors and cut slowly. Just cut tiny little bits off the corners until they approach a rounded shape.
