With all the easter toy madness, I thought I'd post this one, because of the whole two-great-patterns-that-taste-great-together thing.  The bunny hat is from Stitch & Bitch nation, and the bunny toy is from Jess Hutch's free pattern: http://www.jesshutch.com/bunny.html

I mini'd the bunny a bit, because it was for my tiny, tiny niece.  She was obviously so overwhelmed with her own cuteness that she passed out.  Made them both with the same yarn, Mouzelis Butterfly, a merc cotton.

With all the toy ideas showing up around here, I think my new baby shower gift standard is going to become hat *plus* matching toy.... taking it to the next level, baby.

That has got to be the cutest little hat I've ever seen.  Great job.

Gorgeous hat, bunny and of course baby!
I 'd like to learn how to knit.  Cheesy
How did you learn and which books would you recommend for beginners?

I learned to knit last fall from a Leisure Arts booklet I found at JoAnns. It is called "I Can't Believe I'm Knitting"  It looks a bit cheesy, but it is very clear and when you work up one of their small projects, they'll refer you to the exact page and picture that describes the new stitch you'll be doing.  Here is the link to the book:http://www.leisurearts.com/crafts_needlework/item_detail.asp?item_num=2984&search=1

Most books have beginner directions, but I don't think they all are the same.  There are some good websites too with video and all.
Here is one site:

I just have to say again... that baby is so adorable with her new hat and toy....
