Details of swap- Shelly Silverstein, most commonly known as Shel Silverstein, was born in Chicago, Illinois, on September 25. The books I read said he was born in 1932, but some other sources give his year of birth as 1930. His full name was Sheldon Allan Silverstein. He is best known in children's literature for his poetry; however, he was also a cartoonist, composer, lyricist and folksinger.

Needless to say Shel Silverstein did a lot, was a lot, and meant a lot to a lot of people. Proclaim your love for the witty and cute and make something fun for someone!

I just PM'd you too!  What kind of things do people plan to make?  I'm usually a knitter, but Shel doesn't seem to lend himself to knitting quite as well as some other things.  Lots of options though, maybe it's time to try a new craft!

Hmm...this swap sounds pretty cool. When I was little Shel Silverstein was my favorite poet. He still is, along with Emily Dickinson.

I may join. Have to mull it over.
Even if I don't, I'll definitely check out the gallery. Smiley

Let's go with this:

1 Large-ish item. Meaning that it takes a decent length of time to finish. Maybe a collage of characters from a favorite book.
2 Smaller things that take 1/2 -1/4 the time to finish as the Large-ish one. Something based on a favorite poem or song.
AND Add small things as your heart desires.

Sound ok to everyone?
