Cinderella's Castle: from the Rose Garden

I made this little jewelry box for my "little sister." I belong to Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity (though it's for women...but it's still called a Fraternity). We do big sis/little sis to help them learn their information about our group.   Anyway, we had to have a gift for them after the joining ceremony, so I made her this.  We wear little tiny badges about 1/2" high by 3/4" wide to meetings and events to help identify members.  This little box is to keep her badge in.  It's one of those little cardboard boxes with the latch from Hobby Lobby that come in cardboard brown.  I painted the inside and outside using acrylic paints in two shades of brown to make it look like wood.  Then I stenciled a red rose on it, which is our fraternity flower.  Then I used a silver paint pen to embellish the rose, write her name and our letters.  Finally, I varnished the entire box with a clear, shiny varnish to seal it.  I let it air for a few days to get the paint smell out.  I also made a little red satin pillow for the inside to pin the badge to when it's in the box.  Hope you like it!
