I've definitely gotta steal the 'more trees less bush' bottlecap barrette idea!

I made some styrofoam shrinky dinks with my niece and nephew today. Very cool!

Basically you just make sure that you have #6 plastic styrofoam. You have the oven at 350 or 375 and after decorating the plastic with permanent marker you stick the styrofoam in on a baking sheet covered with tin foil. It will take about 30 seconds to a minute for the styrofoam to shrink to 25% of its original size (they curl up and then flatten out again before you take them out).

They are definitely more opaque that real shrinky dinks, but still very fun and a neat result.

Oh my gosh! I just returned home to recieve my package from grannystylee and I am totally blown away! We were COMPLETELY on the same page, I even made her a bib shirt! (which i slaughtered and had to make something new). Anyhoo, the tshirt is rawkin and I dig the pins really hard. Sooooo, here are photos of my lovelies!

First we have the shirt. Bib on front (eh hem... notice the cute little star buttons),  "bike for peace" and "flush less often" on the back (genius).

Next we have the cutest little pins made of all recycled materials, she even threw in some neat stickers.

And last we have THREE sets of stationary envelopes. I like the music ones. And the map ones.. and the magazine ones. Well shoot....

Hoorahhh for a successful swap!

I just recieved my AWESOME package from porfiry... I'll try to take pics this afternoon. Anyway, she sent me a great red tote bag (big enough to fit my laptop! yay!) made out of an old skirt, and lined with this cool blue patterned fabric. Also, a giant jar full of buttons, and a soda tab belt. I love them all!

I received from lady4feet today!!!!!!  Prepare to be jealous:

She made me not one, but TWO bags from old jeans:

The lining is this very soft and fuzzy red and green fleece.  They are beautiful, and I've already taken them grocery shopping with me.

She also sent notecards and envelopes made from maps, and the cards have travel-themed quotes on them (very appropriate for me as I'll soon be traveling):

And she also made me a journal with a map cover, three bottle cap buttons and two bottle cap magnets!!

I absolutely love everything, thank you so much lady4feet!

Ok, here's the stuff porfiry sent me!

Everything together:

The lining of the bag (which is absolutely gorgeous!)

The design on the jar (it's a guy picking tomatoes):

Me wearing the soda tab belt:

The cool gift tags and my 2 favorite buttons (she sent a billion buttons... I haven't even looked at all of them):

And finally, the cute designs she drew on the outside of the package:
