I had to have my dog put down a bit ago.. and after some string pulling.. we were able to bring her home to bury her.  I wanted to make a stone to mark where she was and I finally finished it today.  Smiley

It's a wonderful marker.  I'm sure you had a wonderful 13 years with beautiful zoey - she looks like a great doggie.

What a beautiful idea!  And you did a great job with it.  She looks like a real sweetie, you must miss her.

I'm glad you guys like it.  I miss her tons.. but it makes me giggle cause she wasn't always sweet.. she could be a miserable dog.  Smiley  But we all loved her anyways.

it's beautiful!  how did you do the lettering?

I just wrote in it using a nail while the cement was setting up.  The letters weren't as deep/easy to read as i wanted (i was getting very frustrated and sad trying to get this done.. and this stone was take 2 of trying to making one.. so I settled on how it was) and i just painted them after it had dried.

That's so sweet...my dog was named Zoey too.  She was a border collie/eskimo dog mix and the cutest thing you ever did see.  I think that's a great idea and it really looks lovely.  Sorry for your loss.

So sweet!  I really like the heart. Smiley Smiley

This is an older post, so I'm wondering if the photo has held up well to sun exposure or if you've experienced fading over the years?

My gosh, this IS old.  What a surprise to see this pop up in my inbox.

The picture has faded significantly over the years.. you can still see the picture, but it's been reduced to more just shades of blue.  It was just a print out from a regular printer on plain old printer paper.  The rest of the stone has held up well though.  Smiley  The heart was a plate we found at a thrift store that we smashed and used the pieces.

Wow, thank you so much for the prompt reply!  So happy to hear that the stone has held up so well over the years.

Ooooh, great tip about the plate, too.  Thank you!!  I have some dishes that I inherited from my Grandmother years ago, but some broke through moving and what not.  Being the sentimental packrat that I am, I saved them even though they are shattered to bits and pieces.  I know just what to do with them now!

You're the best. Smiley
