I made this from an old pair of cord trousers and a shirt I never wear. Any wallets I  have previously bought from shops last all of two minutes so I thought I would make my own that would be a bit more hard wearing. The credit card slips are made from the shirt cuffs. The butterfly was from a very cheap pair of earrings I got and took apart. I wanted to create a little mini shrine inside, so I sewed on a little heart from the same pair of earrings and made a little photo pocket, I just need to get a snap of my love now ;-). I made the closed up coin bit with Velcro, way more secure than the dodgy zips that seem to be in shop wallets. Seeing the photos makes me realise how bad my hand sewing is! ( I did the main wallet part by machine and hand sewed the rest) I think it really lets it down. Anyway any thoughts/comments would be much appreciated. I am in Edinburgh, Scotland and have just found craftster again after a couple of years! It really is the coolest thing ever.

It IS cute :-)  I like it and I think your hand-sewing is fantastic.  I use the sewing machine and can not even imagine tackling an entire project by hand.  That is amazing to me.

Don't you just love it when you can take something old and unused and turn it into something wonderful?

Congrats on a job well done.

I think one reason we all craft is to personalize stuff!  I think that you did a good job of making the wallet your very own by adding the butterfly, heart, and even bits of your clothing! Nice job and as long it is practical and cute, keep on making stuff! I like all of the pockets and places to stash things!

Oh, it's so pretty! I love the colors! The lining as such a great compliment to the brown. I love the embellishment too. It is a really sweet touch.

Making a wallet is such a great idea as mine always fall apart too
or ones i like are made without the essential pockets i need!

Thanks guys! You have made me feel loads better about it! And I havent had any funny looks paying for things yet ;-)

I have some more of the fabrics left, so I may give it another go this time all with the machine, and see if i can get it turned out a little better!
