those are really good for firsts! especially the one on the right - the colors are really pretty. mine is pretty bad, but cute in its own little way:

Officially my first post of pics ever... hoping I do it right.

I got my drop spindle last week. I'm definitely still learning! I've never even seen anyone spin, so I have no idea if I'm doing it right, just figuring it out as I go along. The blue is some wool roving I picked up to play with when I got my spindle. The grey-ish color is some raw wool that I washed and carded and then spun.

My first attempts:

All the yarn is 2-ply, and all of it is different weight. But it's my favorite hat ever now :-P Oh, and sorry for the crappy pics, I used my cam phone.

I didn't take a photo of the yarn before deciding to make a hat, sadly.  The hat ended up too small for me (since there was only a small amount of yarn) so I gave it to a friend's kid.
