{Yay!  I passed Spanish, so now I can plan craft without guilt!}

We decided that we loved the idea of using books as out centerpieces.  Several friends that I told all had the same reaction..."How perfect...that's totally you and Aaron!"  This was the initial inspiration:

I came up with the idea just in time, too.  Last weekend was the WMNF Holiday Bazaar...a used book and music sale to support the local community station here in Tampa.  (You can listen online here... http://www.wmnf.org/ )  So we got some great-looking old books to add to ones that have special significance to us, and we supported the commercial free station!  When I do some mock-ups, I'll post pics.

Alright so my save the dates are finally being printed and will be able to pick them up early next week.  I made a picture into a postcard using photobucket to write the words on it.  I got 50 4x6 pictures printed for $10.50 at ritzcamera.com. They have a great deal.  Now I can't wait to pick them up and send them.  Once those are out I will feel like I can focus on other things. 

I've been flirting with the idea of making my own dress...a simple one.  Perhaps the infinity dress that has been posted on her a lot.  No white for me...I tend to spill on my shelf (or boobs) or drool.    hehe

We are having our wedding in a garden with ugly plastic white chairs and I'm trying to think of ways to decorate them.  I have a few.  Making fabric flowers, or wreaths like the ones someone did on here, or I dont know...got any ideas?

OK--I'm back because we've moved up our date to 10-2-10! So now I have lots to do in less time.  I haven't done a thing!  We just booked a photographer and our ceremony/reception venue.  SO now have to do invites, table decorations, bouquets, etc.  Eeek!

I'm in the same boat fiberartsy!  FI and I have been engaged about a month and our wedding is 8-27-10... SO much to do!!

I am super excited to join this thread though!   I'm currently working on coffee filters roses (I figure I need 100 or so of them) and starting to work on save the dates and invitation ideas.  I also made my bridesmaids/MOHs tshirts to ask them to be in my wedding party!

A time warp occurred this morning, and two months just disappeared!  I was glancing at my calendar, and realized that I'm not getting married in 6 months...I'm getting married in 4 months!!!  AAACK!  I still need a DJ and a caterer!  And bridesmaid dresses, and tuxes, and....I don't know what else!  AAAAAACCCKKKK!

BTW, how much should a DJ cost?  And, anyone know any good ones in Tampa, FL?

Wow - haven't posted in some time! The wedding has been & gone, and it was a fun, fun day! I didn't get all my projects done... scrapped a few in the end, including aisle decor {which is just as well, as we moved the ceremony inside due to inclimate weather, so there was virtually no aisle!}.

I also diy'ed my girls jewelry, but don't have a great detail shot of that. They all received pearl necklaces {the two groomsmaids had sterling chains with pearls here & there, my best woman had a solid rope of pearls, plus one coin pendant}. And both moms also received jewelry from me... more pearls! *lol*

Meh - that post box kept acting up, so starting a new one with my DIY papery...

I used my stamp & ink set a lot! On the sabe the dates, the escort cards, candy buffet bags, table numbers and thank you cards. Added a little continuity.

Candy buffet bags - I picked up some simple white bags at a party store & stamped them:


Centerpieces:

Sweet & simple. We picked up 3 medium pots of white mums, cut them and jam packed them into mason jards I'd hot glued ribbon onto. And mom sewed up some great organza table runners! You can slo see the kissing game in this photo - a quiz about us, which I did in a publishing program and printed out on cardstock.

The escort cards - my favorite project!

I dug up old photos of each & every guest and had a copy printed, glued them to 4x6 sheets of cardstock and stamped the table number on each. So much fun! And the guests loved them!

Had a few other projects, but not great shots of them... our table numbers {photos of us in a clear plastic frams}, and reserved seating signs for our immediate family during the ceremony. All in all I was pretty happy with all the DIY projectsI did {and my mom too, she rocked! *lol*}

After having stalked all 175 pages of other peoples posts, I FINALLY get to start posting my own! Yay!

We are getting married November 13th, and I want to do a lot of DIY projects, because its cheap, personal, and it will give me time to spend with my grandmother, and my MOH (who is quite possibly the worlds greatest crafter).

I bought my dress, and my invites are a set from Michaels. My Save The Dates are from vistaprint.com, and I paid 6.95 for 100 because I did postcards, and you get 100 free, and then all i had to pay was shipping! That definitely saved some room in the budget!
