sunnydays, I noticed the scrapbooking stuff at Target too!! Haha! I went crazy and bought a whole bunch. Plus they had acrylic blocks for clear stamps. All for $1! I was pretty excited. But then again, I'm easily amused! Wink

It is a money issue and a space issue, not a hating children issue. I LOVE kids!

We're actually the couple that everyone assumes will have kids first in our circle of friends. I'm just gonna have to prove them wrong! Cheesy

We're up to 61 rsvp'd (rsvped?) guests. We've been getting enough Declines that fitting the kids in shouldn't be a problem. We just won't be able to invite the people on our B list.

Question number 2 of the day:
If you were to attend a wedding with a photobooth, what types of props would you like to have to play with?

I can't wait to go thrift shopping for the fun stuff! Are you crafting the mustaches or are they bought?

It's my experience that you're going to get uninvited guests whether they're children or not. At least at my wedding people RSVP'd for more people ahead of time instead of just showing up with them so we were prepared. [I'm not willing to write about the circumstances of what happened but suffice it to say, I nearly called off the public ceremony entirely.]

That just helped give me an excuse to say "NO KIDS" period, avoiding the problem of the few naughty kiddies overturning the cake or setting the priest on fire.

What's funny about that is at my wedding, I'd be the one more likely setting the priest on fire.  I need to find a good non-religious wedding officiant.

I didn't start getting antsy about organizing my wedding until the last week or so.  I have a whole year and a couple months to go, but we're thinking about having the reception at our house and we need to make the yard a little more betterer.

So I have:
The yard
My dress (gray, strapless, and not shiny)
Something to go in my hair
Pin down a "theme" (thinking roaring twenties / garden party)
Make invites and associated stuff
Make mix CDs for the reception
Figure out the drinks
Make fiance a fancy shirt
Make fiance a fancy handkerchief
Ask friends/relatives to : photograph and do music
Book Mount Tabor for the wedding
Figure out a good "favor" for wedding guests
Figure out how many people are going to stay out our house / decide if we want to escape to a hotel.
Figure out what else I need to do  Roll Eyes
colors: black/grey/pale green/cherry red

h_pets-
If you're having the wedding in the portland metro, we used a woman whose offices are in Tigard and she did a super flexible, simple, non-religious ceremony for us. http://www.weddedyourway.com/ It wasn't the cheapest thing we did for the wedding, but she will do everything from hippie-dippie to much more traditional. She was a pleasure to work with.

woooooooo!  i made progress today!

things i got to check off:
-printing invites and cutting them out at kinkos (har, i typed kinkys.  that's for AFTER the wedding.  Grin)
-addressing invitation envelopes
-found and purchased buckets for centerpieces (we planned on buying glass vases but those posed a problem in breakability, see-throughiness, and storability)

this is even more exciting because i was just having one of those "i hate wedding planning, i never want to do another thing with this wedding, let's just freaking be married already" phases wherein no progress was made.
