Thanks guys for the feedback! I think I like the doves better without the initials as well--plus it's one less thing to get broken/bent/lost/eaten in transit!

I DID manage to get my garter done, and I'm rather happy with how it came out:

Crocheted with vintage ecru thread I've had lying around for AGES, pattern improvised (the beauty of crochet!). The gold ring in the middle is from my grandmother, who sadly can't be at the ceremony due to visa issues. Quick, fun, satisfying, and it came out just how I envisioned it.

Vows are done, music is finalized, we're almost all packed...should be all ready to fly out tomorrow! Wish me luck getting my dress there in one piece!

In the past week, my pals and I have finished my maid of honor's shrug, a couple of the hankies embroidered with the date for the parents/wedding party, hand poured candles for tables/favours, cupcake stands, wrapped card box, computer cake topper and flower lights for the hall! Oh, and I remade the bouquets. I think the only things I have left are centrepieces and the guestbook! I really want to keep having crafting parties after the wedding is over.

Okay, I said I'd post a pic or two of the wooden roses.  here they are.  You can't see the stems really well because the pictures turned out kind of dark   but there are stems!





any suggestions on how I should go about making the bead and rose corsage?

And let me just add that we didn't have a professional photographer, but 4 amateur photogs so there wasn't any real direction going on. With my limited PS skills, I combined two pics of us that I liked best but if you look at the full size pic closely, I look blurrier than him and can't really fix it on my own.

Synne, I love the garter.  I really like the colors.  I wish I knew how to crochet so I could have something that pretty. I'm sure I could try and knit one... but I've been too busy to even work on my socks I started a few months ago!
