Pheww, after taking a couple of days to read through all the posts it's now my turn to add to the list  Grin  I will be getting married on 4th September 2010, so I have plenty of time to plan and craft.

We will be getting married on the beach and will be having a beach/island/hawaiian themed wedding. I want relaxed, casual and no frills Smiley  I've booked a steel drum band for the ceremony and a DJ for the reception who will be playing reggae music (I loooveee reggae).  I've also got a traditional Australian Aboriginal dance group and Torres Strait Island dance group performing (all for free as they are family woohoo)
I've got most of it planned already and just scouting venues.

Here's my to do craft list
- Message in a bottle invitations
- Favors (bathsalts and sea shells in round cork topped jars)
- Bouquet (Frangipanis)
- Wedding leis (Frangipanis for the girls and kukui nuts for the boys)
- Centerpieces (still deciding)
- Cake (which I will get made but will do the fondant myself, topped with sea shells)
- Program fans
- Drink bottles (for cocktails at the ceremony)
- Wedding dress (I will be wearing a sarong style dress so it should be easy and I need 2 of them as I know I'll be getting one wet during the photos)
- Bridesmaid dresses (sarong)
- Grooms outfit (linen drawstring pants and loose shirt)
- Groomsmen outfits
- Flower girls and page boys outfits

Can't wait to actually start crafting.....

Hi all! I get to join you guys now ::squee::

We just got engaged, but we're planning to get married on 10/10/10 (which is a BIG wedding day!) so I need to get my butt in gear with our vendors! Plusssss..... I'm just so excited to craft that I don't think I could possibly wait any longer to start playing! Smiley

So my to do list:
Save the Dates, Invites, Thank Yous, Programs (Good thing FH is a graphic designer! woot woot!)
Bouquets (mine and my BMs)
Bouts for the boys
ALLLL the decorations (I've agreed to ONE type of flower, used sparingly lol)
Centerpieces
Favors (though I'm really leaning toward a candy bar, since FH and I are the biggest sweet-tooths (sweet-teeth? lol) EVER! I'd be REALLY happy if there were tons of leftovers and we got to take pounds and pounds of candy on our honeymoon lol)
My jewelry, BM jewelry (and I want to knit shrugs for all of us)
Something for the moms... all 3 of them lol... will tackle ideas later...
Aaannndddd.... a bunch of other stuff that I just have no clue about... ha! Good thing I have a WHILE to get all this done!!

Oh... longest post ever. Will work on my short-hand next haha

I think I'm going to throw up.
My sister's friend was going to be our photographer but I was told her camera just got stolen. Now we have no one. And photography isn't important to my fiance so his solution is to just hand a camera to any ol' body. Great.

UGH! Sad
Photography can be a pain - that was one of the hardest parts for us to decide. If photography is important to you -- invest in a good one ($2500ish). If not, find one that works "a la carte", or digital only prints (which saves a ton of money). Another option (which can get more expensive than an a la carte photog) is to give everyone disposable cameras.
Good luck!! Smiley

Where are u getting married again?

Oh noooo!! Kster, I'm so sorry, that super bites! Sad

The good thing is that everyone thinks they're an amateur photographer lately- I'll bet that if you sent out a couple emails to your friends, you could A) find someone who takes pretty decent pictures and would take pics for discount, B) find a BUNCH of friends who have their own digital cameras who wouldn't mind snapping a few throughout the night!

Plus, if you have a couple friends snapping pics on their own cameras, you'll probably end up with neat pics- every pic will have a little different style than the next, you know? That would make for a really cool wedding album!

(Or, if you can get FH to agree- and he has the bucks- loan some cash money to your original photographer to replace/ rent a camera for the day!)

Good luck good luck good luck! I hope it works out!!

Oh Kster, I'm so sorry! I second what hippie4yahweh said--just about everyone these days has a digital camera (and if not, film is pretty cheap for old-school folks!) and with lots of people taking pics you'll definitely have the night captured in all the candid/funny/touching moments.
Good luck in the home stretch, and keep us posted!

Kster, I'm not sure how artistically inclined your friends and family are, but we just had people taking shots and uploading them to flickr and we ended up with a number of great shots (1500+ in total) aside from the professional photographer. Asking around to borrow a camera is also an option. You'd be surprised how may people have heavy duty photography equipment just hanging around. You can also check the local college and find a student photographer.

Good Luck! Best wishes!

I'm glad I posted on here. You girls have helped. My sister's friend said she might be able to get a friend to do it for a discount or as a favor, so there's still hope. I may ask if my sister's friend can borrow my sister's camera cuz, although it's not professional, it's still pretty good.
*deep breath* I just can't wait to get it all over with and finally be married.
