Which suburbs do you like to shop in Sydney?

I love Newtown too! Pentimento is especially droolworthy.

Glebe markets on the weekend is always worth a look. Alot of handmade crafty items.

I used to spend alot of time in Broadway while I was at Uni across the road. Very yummy foodcourt.

Now my fave places are around Chinatown (for bargains and tasty things) and  the QVB (for inspiration).

The hippest place? I don't know . Thats a difficult one.

I love Newtown! The button shop and the braid shop and Pentimento are so cool! Glebe rocks too for the markets. Infact, anywhere in the Inner West is hip because it is so down to earth and full of interesting people.

Art on King in Newtown has a good selection of handmade papers and scrapbooking paper and stuff.i loooove newtown

As someone who lives and works in the inner west, I'm also going to nominate it. There are some cool fabric shops in Marrickville, and some good $2 shops for those essential "things". Plus great vietnamese food.

I haven't been in Australia long enough to judge what's hip, but the inner west (where I live) definitely seems to be a good place to be. I vote yes!

I love Chinatown and the area around the QVB for bargains and inspiration (and Lush), but surely Newtown is definitely the hippest? 
If not that (dare I say it) Redfern, in its underground, art-gallery ridden way...
