you have to take the ink stick out of the pen before you put the pen in the oven and then once they are completed you stick the ink stick back in!!!!!

Quite nice.
Did you put the pens in the oven?  Would they explode/melt?

Those are really nice, and look very hard to make (contrary to what you said). Anyway, how do you get them soo smooth? I don;t even really understand how you made them, I don;t work with clay! But nonetheless the look awesome!

if you are interested in learning out how to make them i can try to post a tute..... its a little difficult to explain but maybe if i use pics too, hmmmmm idea

I would love to see that! If it's something a newbie can do that is, but if it requires tons of polymer skill, you don;t have too! I wouold be happy with a simple explanation, I just don;t get how you get them soo smooth!

to smooth it out i usually wait until i have the pen completely covered then just roll it back and forth on my work surface.... usually a place mat so i dont get the clay on the table.  none of my designs need to be perfectly symetrical so its fine to do it that way

Okay so you roll out like a big rectanglecut out the size you need, wrap it around the pen, disguise the seam and smooth it out. <-- Way simplified, but am I WAY off?

not way off.... if you are looking to do one color, or to just mix the colors together then that will work.  thats the easiest way...... designs are another story tho ( you need to make canes for that where you put your design together in short fat logs, then when u have your design, u start to roll or squeeze it to meld it together and cut it into slices.  stick the slices on the pen until it is covered, then roll it to smooth

yes, i usually take the ink out before i even begin to cover it.  that way you dont mess up the clay design before baking it
