First Purse and Picture Post

I used umpteen tutorials from this section so I have many people to thank for doing all the hard work for me! I made this from fabric that I have had in my stash for years.  It is vintage fabric from the 70's that I got from Panama and is based on the molas that the Cuna Indians make.  I made it for my sister as a surprise since she went to high school in Panama.

Inside is lined with green stripey stuff(crafster tutorial!) and has pockets and a zippered pocket(another crafster tutorial!).  Thank you everyone--I am now addicted to making bags (I still knit and crochet but this is a nice change.)

Fantastic Fabric & adorable purse.

It looks as though you did a very Nice job with this.  Based on what I see here, I think you should continue making purses because I think you have a good eye for color and style.

Thank you for the encouragement!  It means a lot especially since you guys are the ones who have motivated me to try my hand at bag making!

I am still in awe at the number of beautiful and DIFFERENT bags there are!  Thank goodness also for the great job JMI does on the tutorials and the archives--I am still looking at all of the wonderful bags and drooling and dreaming!

No--I am just a beginner bag maker so I am practicing by making bags for all my friends and family and some unsuspecting swap partners, hee hee! Thanks for replying--I am going to figure out this camera and post some better pictures of the inside too.
