Ahem.... may I have your attention please....

I would just like to announce that I am the luckiest craftster in the world (LCITW).
I know we have all been the LCITW at some point, but for now the title of LCITW passes back to me.   Grin

The Fabulous Ms. Laural chose my wish of a lap blanket.  Not only did she make a blanket, she made a quilt. I think I need to say this again... Laural made me a quilt.  Not only did she make a quilt, but, it is a pieced quilt with a dozen stars in blues, purples, and reds on a black background.  Not only did she make a pieced quilt, but she made a large one... I mean, this "lap" quilt is practically a comforter.  And... on top of all this is is beautifully, beautifully made.

Laural, I can't thank you enough for such a wonderful gift.  And I'm not too proud to say I got teary-eyed when I opened the box, because I just couldn't believe you made this for me! (gee... hope you didn't send me the wrong quilt by mistake?) Thank you for being such an extraordinary swapper!

Despite the fact that it is 29 Celsius, I am sitting here wrapped in my quilt, loving every minute of it.   Kiss Kiss Kiss  thank you, thank you!
love,
The LCITW

P.S.
I REALLY WISH I had a dig camera and could post a picture of this magnificent quilt, but then, Laural, you would immediately be deluged with requests to swap and you wouldn't have a moment's peace, so it's probably for the best.  Wink

I know! This is so mind-boggling.  Laural sent me a quilt! (maybe if I keep saying it, it will sink in).  I knew she was going to, but I didn't expect it to be quite this fantastic.  I thought it might be square blocks and hand-tied (which would still have been wildly amazing of course), instead of pieced and machine quilted (which is... ridiculously amazing!).  Maybe because I made a similar-sized pieced quilt once, and it took me over a year to make, so making one for a swap is just the height of fabulous generosity.

Laural said she took a photo before she sent, so hopefully she will post it and all can see the quilty goodness! But if she does, please don't envy me too much for being the LCITW, y'all!   Cheesy

i can't wait to see the quilt!

...i know what you mean, bloo.  i've only actually finished one quilt and it was a teeny baby quilt made up of about sixteen squares and then handtied.  i have another that's close to being finished but that's been in my closet for years.  i have so much respect for people who can actually *finish* a quilt.

Oh, I can't wait to see the picture, too!  As a quilter, I know how much work goes into pieced quilts and love seeing other peoples work.

You are one lucky person, BlooCanoe

I'm sorry to Homerof2 and Rosali for taking forever to post pictures of what they sent me.

Homerof2 picked me for fabric. Is that chicken fabric not the most awesome fabric?:

Rosali picked me for pillowcases. She sent me 4 awesome gryffindor colored pillowcases and they came in an awesome bag that I apparently forgot to upload. It is a gift bag with book art for HP 6:

Thank you both again so much!

Here is Bloocanoe's quilt:

To quilt you need a few things - fabric, rotary cutter/mat,  sewing machine, book on cd or tape (IMO the most important thing) and a friend who you can barter with to do things say if you hate a particular part, such as cutting. It also helps if this friend is much better at quilting than  you and will either encourage you to fix your points or when you give up they do them for you.

P.S. if it's not obvious this is my favorite block pattern and I love quilts with black backgrounds.
