...so I bought these Etnies sport sandals from my work because they're incredibly comfy and because I can't handle that between-the-toe business of most girly sandals (too hurty!). Unfortunately, the only ones we had in black (mandatory) had this god-awful black printed vinyl stitched to the sides! GAH! behold the humanity:

before:

Naturally, I attacked them with stitch-rippers and tissue paper. Here's what I wound up with:

Zebra print is so much more to my liking. I used white glue initially to place the paper, then I sealed it with this great clear waterproof sealant I got at Home Hardware. It claims to be "flexible" as well, so I'm hoping it won't crease or rip too badly. Worst case scenario, I have to redo them a few times this summer. Bummer, but well worth it.

 *Cheers to my new kicks!*

These are really cute! I like what you did with them.  I'm not sure I would have had the courage.

I love those- it is a 500% improvement over those flowers. The existing hot pink piping goes really well with the zebra too. This may not be the most elaborate or dramatic shoe makeover in the challenge, but those are shoes I would really WEAR every day in the summer. (I cannot stand the between the toe thing either!)
