Spring has sprung and that means spring cleaning.  I know for one I've found tons of great crafty supplies I was "hording" over the winter.  I think I tried to be prepare in case I needed to entertain myself if I got snowed in.

Does any one else has a bunch of crafty supplies that you want to trade?

How about a SWAP  Huh Grin

Let see if there is some interest and get something going.... I've participated in, but never organized a swap --- so I would be willing unless someone else would like to organize.

Thoughts?

Happy Spring Cleaning.

addtional notes

I checked the post office they have this FLAT RATE BOX via Priority Mail-- as much as you can stuff in a box for like $7.70 plus cost of delivery confirmation.  I think that would be the best bet-- if we have international interest we would suggest a similar postage cost range, it would be a smaller box.  BE SURE to request the FLAT RATE box or you'd be charged by weight.

I'm going to have this thread hang out in the new swap board for a little bit--- tell people to check it out.  and then pending interest switch it over to new swaps with sign-ups next Friday the 14th.  I'm thinking this would be a quick turn-around swap since no crafting involved just sending stuff.   I'll pair off people and you can post stalk to see what they might be interested in and then surprise them with crafty bits.  Sound like a plan?

This sounds lovely!  I like to try lots of new crafts, but then decide I don't like them and have lots of odds and ends.  The bits and pieces are taking over my craft room!!

I've been in a number of these type swaps and they are so much fun. I love when it's completely random and a surprise rather than having to get into likes and dislikes. (ie: swap partner hates brown, only uses orange cotton yarn, loves green plastic beads,  is allergic to emroidery hoops, etc.)  I have received so many cool things that I would have never thought to buy for myself, it's a great way to get new crafty ideas.

One thing that's worked well in these swaps in the past is to specify any crafts you dont' do - for example, I crochet one scarf every couple years, and I have no interest in learning to knit - so I know that loads of gorgeous yarn would be wasted on me, while the next person on the list might be yearning for yarn.  With some basic guidelines (e.g., I never use yarn; I especially love antique-looking scrapbook paper), you can steer your partner toward stuff you could most enjoy.  However, the "spirit" of this swap has always been what ilovepaper described above, and when I've swapped supplies, I"ve encouraged my partner to send me absolutely anything she doesn't want.  I typically keep 1/3 to half of what I get, and I put the rest on freecycle (and it gets claimed fast!!).

I absolutely agree with Writer78. I neglected to add that it is also so much fun to stalk your swap partner to get some good ideas about what they might enjoy.

YES, I would totally be in.
It is pretty bad when you cant see the top of your craft table because it is so full of crap.
And that flat rate box from the post office is great, you can pack it full of bricks and it still only cost $7.70
