I took better pictures after I blocked it. Here they are, if you want to see!

Since then I still haven't worn it because it's ridiculously saggy in the bust. I've tried a couple of things to get it to work better, like picking up stitches all along the top and inside the straps to gather it in a little. That worked somewhat. I'm going to add some elastic in key spots, which will probably do the trick.

I should have made sure the top measurement would fit me with the fabric STRETCHED. Live and learn. Good luck with yours!

Exxxcellent!  Ok, your blog indicates that you have some reserves about wearing it, due to the slinkiness issue.  But, please, please, please!!??  Especially since I don't think there are any other pics on the web of an actual human wearing this.

And, congrats again on many long hours of knitting.  And lace knitting.  Be proud!

is it too late for Aly to join this knitalong?
i finally started after admiring this pattern for so long
(thought i couldn't do lace. pSHAW!)

i've only done the first row so far, haha.
and i'm knitting the smallest size to get a more snug fit.
(i'm not exactly skinny.)
but i hear it has some extra room?

hmm, i hope this will revive this thread!

I think there amy be others who will knit this yet. Like me for instance. Unfortunately i have a list a mile long of projects to do first.

I'm going ot start it later this spring after I finish Lucky.  Probably in May or June.

Alright so I still haven't started mine.  The sizing problems are making me hesitate.  If you used the suggested yarn, did you think that a 1-lb cone of it was enough?  Because that's what I got, but it looks like it's nowhere near enough.  It's like the same yardage required for Orangina (which is much smaller), which I am considering using the yarn for instead now.

I'm going to do this!  I just need to get my #2 needle.  I must be insane...

On the recommendation of someone on another board who made this thing, I'm using Austermann Pharao--it's $2.59/ball (196 yds. each, so close to the yardage of the Halcyon) at elann.com.  I'm using aqua.

I haven't done feather and fan before, but I've always admired it--I'm looking forward to learning it.

When you swatch for this (I rarely swatch...but I will on this thing!), do you just knit stockinette on your #2?  or on your #3?  I wasn't sure.

I went ahead and started mine last month ... wasn't sure if the knitalong was still going on or not. I'm glad to see it is!  I'm hoping that the sizing turns out alright after hearing some complaints about the fit.  I'm about halfway done.  I'm knitting it in a light lilac which is very pretty.  Hopefully I'll get around to posting pictures soon!
