thanks!  ;Di used to work in a shop in ocean city maryland that sold nothing but tie dye things. the owner also did tie dye in a crafty area in the store so folks could watch,--i watched- and learned--- this was 1998....

i finally started doing it full time in 2002-

i also do batik and painting with dyes on fabric Smiley

heres a peacock i did a while back on hemp muslin....

Wow your dyes are so vibrant. I wish I could see them in person.
I am a batik artist too.  I have been experimenting with new fabrics, and it was great to see your peacock batik. How did you get such fine lines? My tjantings only give me fine lines when I go really slowly.

i use the good tjantings - i had the crappy ones from dharma- then a student bought me a nice copper and teak one- i love it.

im not sure how they come out so fine- its a tiny tiny little opening in the spout.

as far as fabrics- that peacock was done on mediumweight hemp muslin- by far the DREAM fabric to dye and sew with- i  love hemp so much Smiley
