twilight021: Cool! What color and what yarn?

It's a verigated yarn with light blue, light gray and white.  I'm not sure what kind...I got it on ebay from the yarn porn lady years ago...I call her the yarn porn lady cause all her pictures were these really fancy pictures of  like, yarn at the beach, someone running thier fingers through the yarn...you know, yarn porn  Grin

Longtime lurker at Craftster deciding to pop out from the shadows. Hi everyone.

One time I was browsing through the knitting section, and found this:

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=96299.0

This pattern looked like a good introduction into knitting lace patterns, so I decided to give it a go. So I reached into my yarn stash and pulled out my floppy Tempting that I made a year ago and decided to frog it. I figured that I wasn't using it anyway, so I might as well use the yarn for something else. So, I'm not really eliminating my yarn stash... but I am using what I have! And this pattern is really fun to knit. Smiley
My progress so far. And I'm frogging the tempting while knitting the cami. Not the smartest thing to do, but fixable, no?

I also made this http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring06/PATTsakura.html for my mom, substituting the brown for a really deep green and the pink for white and purple for red. I think the white and red combination for the flowers go really well with one another. I just have to felt and assemble it, and it will be finished. It's amazing what you can finish in a weekend (especially while on a plane and/or at a fencing tournament)!

well since i'm the slowest knitter this side of Texas I actually just finished these. I am now finishing my panta and then finishing clapotis. Knitting ADD doesn't work for me so I have to force myself to do one project at a time

**edited to add: my seaming stinks thats why it looks all pointy

I don't think its stupid! That is what I always do, why not! I think that its a good idea, spend less time frogging, more time knitting! Grin

That's what I've thought too, but I've been told by other knitters to straighten the yarn before using through washing and hanging it to dry. I think as long as you keep even tension while knitting, it shouldn't affect the product too much. So far, the camisole is coming out fine.

I think that's a nice thought, but that it really depends on what yarn  it is, plus how long the project has been knit up... some yarns "kink" much, much more than others, so I say play it by ear. Its nice to know the "right way" to do things, because then you have a better basis to make an educated judgement call, like you did! Grin

I love the color of your cami. I am not doing UWYH this month, but it was a great experience- I learned alot about myself and my spending habits, and feel like I really benefitted from it.

Enjoy it y'all!

I'll take part in this...........

I have some "mystery" yarn.....  all I know is that it is 100% wool (merino I think), and it is somewhere between  DK & Aran......  I have loads (ie about 800g) of brown, a small amount (100g I think) of fawn and lots of cream.........  (weights are a bit hazy cos it is all on cones, and the cardboard tubes down the center obviously add to the weight....)  anyhow I thought I would do a Hoodie for myself out of it - prob SNB's Under the Hoodie as I ahve just knitted a swatch of it, and it is perfect for that!.....

not got a pic of my progress yet cos all I hve done is knitted theswatch and cast on the back..........
