I've been wanting to do something with my old New Rock boots for a few months now. They served 4 faithful years on my feet (until the heels, stitching, insoles and laces all gave way at once) and they deserved a better retirement than being thrown in the trash. Then I saw this challenge...

And so, I give you... New Rock Boot plant pots!

4 hours, acrylic paint, tulip t-shirt paint, glitter, clear plasikote, two pint glasses (poor old things couldn't stand unsupported), two ivy plants and bag of blue glass 'dobs'.

The right boot is sunrise themed and the left is sunset themed.

Sunrise- the New Rock medallion became a butterfly, there's bird sillouettes over the sunrise and there's flowers and a dragonfly on the heel.

Sunset- the New Rock medallion became the moon, there's bats against the sunset and the heel has a sillouette of a town skyline (complete with glow in the dark windows and stars).

These are so beautiful, any chance we could get close ups of the detailing? It sounds wonderful.  Also, very inventive!  Nice job.

Ha Ha!  When I first read about this craft challenge, I thought to myself:  "I bet someone's going to make a planter out of a shoe", and alas, you've done it!

Great job, by the way.  I love the colors, and they look like a fun addition to your garden.

Those are awesome!!

They didn't agree on much. In fact they rarely agreed on anything. They fought all the time and they challenged each other everyday. But in spite of their differences they had one important thing in common. They were crazy about each other.
