My boyfriend has a hat just like that and I saw a ton of people with the last year. Now I can make one in my favorite color, purple! Smiley

Those are neat, I was thinking about getting one last winter, but I never did.

Since I didn't see anyone answer this yet, this type of hat is called an ushanka.

Ok I see, it years later now, but I just found this a few days ago. That's the right thing to start my sewing career with. Can anyone help me? As a sewing novice I need to know how to transform the head size to the paper cutting template and if I'm having furr in the inside how much the diameter must be greater? (sorry for my rusty english, didn't use that very often).
