Just wondering if anyone is working on the Streakers shrug from IK Spring 06.  I'm on the sleeves and have lost steam!  Maybe some company might motivate me.....

Have you seen the pattern correction for this? It seems to be the sleeves. http://www.interweave.com/knit/interweave_knits/corrections/spring06.asp

I looked at this and have contemplated making this but.... I'd have to find a substitute yarn (Streakers is too rich for my blood!) and resize the pattern for my fat body, something I am afraid to do. It's really pretty and I really want to make it though. What kind of yarn are you using?

cinimonstk:  I'm using Reynolds Brush Alpaca, but I figure any bulky weight would do.  This yarn is so amazingly soft, although I'm not sure what the slightly fuzzy effect will have on the overall look.  I'll post when I'm done.

sue:  Thanks; I did see the correction, of course, after racking my brain, going "huh?" for like an hour when I first got to the sleeves.

I started this last night .I got through the first 3" of ribbing and I stopped. Im using some yarn I ripped from a thrift store sweater a couple years ago. Its dyed blues and greens. I'm knitting the smaller size. I got gauge on 9 & 10's.

I love this shrug! and i am most definitely not a shrug person.

The yarn & color is great too, but also too expensive for me. what other substitutes are y'll using. i'd love to see progress photos.

I think I may use Knitpicks Wool of the Andes in Fog (otherwise known as gray).

I am making this using Malabrigo for a substitute in the Watergreen color.  I am about 3 inches into the (12 inch) sleeve portion.

I actually just finished it in Manos, and I wear it all the freaking' time Smiley  I'm thinking of making another one in Malabrigo, in beige...
