Hey. Does anyone else out there sell (or attempt to sell) what they make? Would any of you be interested in an austin craft mafia type of thing? I'm not saying we take out a domain name right away, but we could meet up and swap tips and so forth.

I sell my stuff at Four White Walls, online, and other sundry places.

I would totally be interested in something like that.

I'm looking to start selling my products (mostly handbags, totes, diaper bags, purses, etc.). I would love to participate.

I've just started selling some stuff at a gallery/boutique in Tucson.  Right now, I barely have time to do that little bit.  But in about 6 months - 1 year I expect to give up the day job.  If any sort of Craft Mafia thing happens around here I'd love to be part of it (even if my initial participation was limited).

It's not that I don't want to swap, it's that I often don't have time.  But feel free to ask (especially if it's one that's not too time consuming).

There certainly is a lot going on. sign up for newsletters, get involved in a competition if you have time. pick one that gives you plenty of time to create.
Also check out the meetup.com website for an active group near you. Artisansmarket.com also has a newsletter you can sign up for and since they are based in Phoenix they tell people about events that are local. Also if you do shows check out the Craftmasternews.com website or Artisansmarket.com also has a link to another show provider on their website.
I know there is a wholesalers show coming up in Scottsdale its where artist go and try to get companies to buy their items and reproduce them. Don't have all the info but will ask my girlfriend who is going.]
let me know if you hear anything good going on in Tucson!
