What I envisioned with the paint wash:  glue all the b/w pics down.  water down some paint.  paint in broad even strokes over the whole thing.  wait for it to dry, then seal/mod podge it.

Think of the wash like a glaze for a cake (vs thicker, stiffer icing).

I just came across something in a book about decoupage that might help people out with this idea...

they suggest putting pigments straight into the varnish

they list these colors
red : red oxide pigment
blue: prussian blue pigment
green: oxide of chromium
brown: raw umber pigment

I'm not sure where u'd get them..probably an art store... but i thought this might be useful, thats all..
peace!

Love it! Here's another one with cool images, including pulp covers.

I thought maybe these could be useful too.
(Most of you have probably seen all these before, but here they are anyway...)

What a great idea~!  IKEA rocks.  Another idea for the mirrors... a few years ago I bought a whole stack of those mirrors and painted them as gifts for friends according to their tastes and then used two eyescrews on the top and then put ribbon in it and then put mug hooks (they look like pirate hooks with a screw on them) on the bottom.  So the mirror could be hung and serve as a storage place.  I use mine for jewerly, my sister uses her's for her keys, endless possibilities. Cheesy

Awesome mirrors! I just bought 9 of those mirrors yesterday and was planning on decoupaging Sailor Jerry tattoo flash on them. Any tips? Did you cover up the mirror so that it didnt get glue/mod podge on it?

Cheers!
