okay, so the boyface decided he wanted a comicbook decoupaged coffee table.
One table, graphic novel, and bottle of Mod Podge later....

The black in the groove is actually puff paint.
Yay!  Who knew I was dating such a crafty boy?

Thats pretty sweet. If it were my table I would paint the rest of the wood black or a solid color to make it pop.

Fabulous job.  After seeing so much decoupaged furniture, I am going to have to try something like this.

my boyfriend friend love this when he saw the first picture.  Then he saw the closer-ups and was appalled when he recognized it as the "death of Superman" episode.
He was happy relieved to find out that it wasn't the actual comic, but the TPB (trade paper back = graphic novel).  His exact words were, "I guess it's OK to do that to a TPB. At least it wasn't the actual comic."

But I think it's GREAT!  I want one  *ponders if roomie would let her do that to their current coffee table*

This is so adorable!  He must be flyin' high.  I'm definitely going to show my boyfriend (he sculpts action figures for a living.)  I could see something really similar for myself with a Junko Mizuno theme.

That is really, really cool.  If my boyfriend ever sees this, we will definitely have a manga coffee table...
