i felt like making something springy to wear while i watch the snow melt (never mind that it makes a big mess--at least spring is coming).  i had this old pattern (60s?) that i found in the thrift store and thought i would try it.  this is the "mini" version pictured...not too "mini" on me lol.

the cool thing about this pattern is that the tops of the pockets make belt loops.

do you think it looks retro?  i can't decide.

OMGosh this is so cute!
I know my mom has some of her patterns from the 60's and 70's and Ive used them to make clothing.
I love the styles and I love how your skirt uses the pockets for belts loops as well!

Wow, that whole pocket-loop thing is really cool. Awesome skirt, I think it's pretty retro.

That is a REALLY cute pattern! I love the belt loops also. I think it looks retro but it would look better a little shorter. Maybe a couple inches above your knee, IMO hitting at your knee is an awkward length, looks a little "nursing student". You did a great job!

You know, I agree with that. I think it looks great how it is, this would only improve it.

sweet skirt!  I just posted a green pencil skirt!  I love the whole retro look, and the nurse student thing is hot.

funny, i was just looking at the picture thinking that i should shorten the skirt.  i'm glad you confirmed my decision ("nursing student"-lol!).

thanks for the feedback everyone!  i'll post when i've shortened it.
