Hello Everyone,

I made this necklace tonight and I'm struggling with the idea that it needs more. Does it need more beads? I spiraled, but can you tell. Help! I need a little advice.

Thank You!

Hi Aisha- I really like what you have so far..
What it looks like it needs is a big ol' focal point. Smiley As a designer, you want to always keep track of where your eyes lead you when looking at something. Are your eyes wandering all over the place wondering where to settle? Well- then i suggest something to lead your eyes along the beautiful beads and settle on. People also have a tendency to go for symmetry in all they make- Because- its comfortable- try some asymmetry and see what happens.
Have fun and hope this helps.

I really like what you have done. I can see the spiral pattern of the beads around the felted body of the necklace in the photo but I'm not sure how noticable it will be when the necklace is worn. I'd probably add more beads and maybe even a second spiral parallel to the first in a contrasting color. Are you planning on using the closure as a focal? If so, you might want to further embellish the closure, maybe with more beading. If not, I think that I agree with lexis that the piece is begging for some focal point.

I've been considering doing some similar necklaces with some of my ceramic beads as focals. I love what you've done here.

Thank you both for the advice. I will add more and repost when I'm done.
