This is HILARIOUS!! What a great idea  Cheesy  I should make one of these of my baby for my sis and one of her for him  Cheesy  I didn't get a chance to read all the replies... but what is inkjet fabric?  I'll search through the replies when I get a chance... sorry to ask twice if I did!
I don't remember whether anybody else asked about that.  Inkjet fabric is paper-backed fabric you can run through an inkjet printer.  It's often found either with quilting supplies or next to the t-shirts & iron-on transfer papers in craft stores.  If you're making something that'll get washed and drooled on (among other things), then you should make sure it's permanent & colorfast.  Some types shouldn't be exposed to water.

Sounds like the "flat daddies" some military families are using.  Here's some inspiration for you, i_made_it:

I really love this idea!  I'm going to make a little family to send to my relatives since we're moving so far away next week.  I can't wait to send a stuffed aunt patty doll to my nephew!

Here is my "homage" to Little Bigmouth, for my baby nephew! I had a very hard time, and broke my crappy machine, so it's handsewn, and rather badly. Still, I think its jankiness is part of its appeal. Or so I am telling myself.
