This last week I have been making furry egg cosies for my daughters Girl Guides easter chocolate raffle. They wanted a donation of 2 large and 3 small eggs from each guide, and to be quite frank, I'm skint!!

So I dived into my stash, and came up with these, I've done 16 so far.

The guider in charge was so pleased with them, I've now got to make as many as I can for Saturday!!

She said she'd rather have these on the stall than the easter eggs!!

Me, pleased?? Oh yes!!

They are really easy to do;
28 stitches and 28 rows. (all rows garter st.)
5mm needles
double knit yarn
fun fur yarn (or similar)
Cast on 28st
knit 1 row in double knit
2 rows in fun fur (or some kind of fluffy funky stuff)
2 rows double knit
repeat the 2 rows fur, 2 rows double knit until 27 rows.
1 row dk
cast off in dk
To sew up;
Sew cast on and cast off edge together, then make running stitches through 1 end, pull together and fasten off, leave other end open. Push fastened end inside the 'tube' until it will fit a creme egg in. Make a tie from the yarn/ ribbon/ beads etc to fasten above the top of the egg. It doesn't matter which side is inside or out, because you get a different effect with both.
The shorter closed end one was made with 22st and 28 rows, and I fastened both ends.
Heres a pic of the results.
