hahah i cringed before even reading the post!! but yeah i usually crochet a row around things because i seriously hate having to deal with yarn ends everywhere

I once made a scarf for my mother that had a stripes/yarn ends to weave in. I eventually trimmed them all to the same length, then added some to the opposite side like fringe and called it a caterpillar scarf.  She adored it- but then again, her job is teaching about nature to kids and adults.
