Almost half of his original stuffing came out in the wash. Perhaps some kind of mesh bag? I'd also like to try putting some kind of weight in his bottom to hold him down better when he's sitting.. he has a habit of flopping over as he is now

Maybe you could use a pantyhose...

He is fanTAStic!

You've put so much thought, energy and love into this gift!  You must have one heckuva brother  Smiley

My only suggestions on the redo would be to felt him prior to stuffing him.  When he's done felting put any kind of dried beans in the bottom and then fill the rest of the way with the fiberfill.  If you're feeling fancy you can buy plastic toy stuffing pellets for the bottom but I see no need to spend the money.  When I made my toy from Jess Hutch I just found some beans from the pantry and stuck them in.  My toy sits up well and also has a lovely 'heft' to it that makes it yummy.

Hee. I weighted a stuffy's feet with lentils a little while ago.  But when I gave him to my friend I made sure to tell her never to wash him! Prolonged soaking and agitating in the wash could make for an interesting soup  Tongue

they sell polyester beads (like in Beanie Babie's) at most craft stores.  I was just wishing I had picked some up for a project I'm working on.

Debbies only get respect in the knitting world.  How unfair is that?

Because Poe wrote on both of them.

Anyone up for a Jasper Fforde swap?

That's so adorable! ^^

I don't know how you'd give him away, I'd be too sad. Smiley
