Just go to Paypal.com. They explain it all VERY clearly. You'll just need to have a checkbook handy (to tie the account to a bank acct) and maybe a credit card (or bank card).

i've had a paypal account for me website and ebay business for a while, and i've been helping my mom set up her website.  here are some things i recommend:

- go to the bank and open a free checking account, separate from your other finances.  this will keep you extra safe in the unlikely event that someone gets into your paypal account.  don't keep a lot of money in your paypal account or the checking account.  i try to keep under 500 in my paypal account.

this one, i simply can't stress enough.  i have to explain it over and over to my mother:
- do not, do not, DO NOT believe emails about your account being suspended/hacked/whatever.  i just got one today and was almost fooled.  if you think there's a chance the email may be real, open a new window, type in www.paypal.com yourself, and log in to your account.  DON'T follow the links in the email.  if it's a fake, when you type in your password, you're essentially handing all the money in your account over to the scammers.

if something is really wrong with your account, there will be a message waiting for you when you log in.  if there isn't anything there, and your account seems fine (which i can almost assure you it will always be perfectly fine), the email is fake.

smarmyclothes- I've heard a couple of people recomend making another account just for paypal but I was just wondering, does that mean I should have three? (one personal, one business and one paypal?)  Huh

ideally, yes.   it seems like a pain, but i think it's worth it in the event that someone ever got ahold of your paypal information.  it'd be much less stressful to lose $100 versus $1000.

With your website - be sure that you have a way to integrate the PayPal account so that you can have people pay online real time  Smiley
