Hiya!
First time poster....huge lurker on Craftster.

These are two dog beds I made recently for our German Shepherds...their much larger than normal and are  made with supportive foam. All our animals (all 8!) are rescued and have various health problems...these two cuties (Simon and Krista) have hip problems.

They fought over it so I made another:

I think she likes it!

I plan on making them rain jackets, hoodies, and durable booties in the future...since we're moving to Chicago.
Gotta keep the puppies warm.

Well thanks for lookin!!

Their very happy....but now the cats are starting to snuggle with the dogs.
I guess I'll have to attempt small cat beds next!

Aw that's just so cute i almost couldn't handle it! There really aren't enough big dog beds out there, and when they are they are super pricey or not very good quality (i own a lab and she's not even big but beds are hard to find)

And I admire you so much for adopting rescued animals.
Cheesy All animals need some lovin'!

Danka!
I know- I was not about to throw that kind of money down on a dog bed that would eventually 'de-poof' if you know what I mean.
So I made these with a soft but durable canvas, upholstery foam, and huge zippers....material s total cost of about 35$!

hehehe we refer to our home as "the farm"....as soon as we get a bigger place we'll be fostering senior dogs as well.

yer babies are beautiful!!!  and i second the need for more affordable and healthy dog beds for big pups.  i'm making dog beds in exchange for obedience class from a friend of ours and he requested more small ones.  and i was stoked when he said the foam ones are better for their hips than the big pillowy ones.  i can't resist the temptation to share a picture of Liberty on her simple little bed.  its just fleece with a drawstring on the bottom.  libby's a rescue dog as well.  nearest we can figure she's rott and german shepard.  looking forward to marching with her and the rest of her rescue family in the parade this summer Smiley

You all have some awfully cute pups!!  I had to add a picture of my big boy enjoying the bed I made for him ( we stuffed it with an old comforter instead of foam) but it was beause we couldn't find an affordable bed that we liked for his crate.

My handsome boy is a rescue too (and a special needs pup, he has epilepsy)
