What a great bunch of goodies! I'm glad the pendant I made for you is different. Phew! Cheesy
I'm still waiting for mine to arrive. Waiting is soooo hard!

Can you tell me about that wooden doll in the background of your pic? I have four of them I found at the thrift store. I have no idea what they are all about, but I had to adopt them. Cheesy

Oh! The wooden dolls are both Japanese kokeshi dolls.  You are so lucky to have found 4 at a thrift store...they can be worth a lot of money.  But even better, they're wonderful.  I have been told that kokeshi dolls were made to represent the spirit of children, among other things.  The tall one I found at a thrift store as well (and is more of the antiquey style) and the small one my boyfriend bought (for himself, he likes them...cute right?).  I love them- I have even featured some in my reconned thrift art (Magical Marsh Nymph *with kokeshi doll dragonflies*) for the craft challenge that's going on right now.

I know this thread is kinda old--but i'm going to japan in a few days so i was on here reading about crafty-japanese things...anyway, i also noticed those cute Japanese kokeshi dolls in your picture, and thought, "i so have to get one when i'm in Japan..." then, today i was at Target and was checking out their "global bazaar" section (which i am not really a fan of) and they totally had wooden dolls like that! (they only cost like $3.99 too). you can even get the set on thier site: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_7/601-3818189-6601752?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000J448KA (though these are made in china). i was a bit disappointed, i mean, they're  not authentic, but now one would barely have to leave thier suburb to seemingly shop globaly!...just thought i'd share.

Umm... I'm in Japan too, now and would ***love*** to swap Japanese items for a polymer clay start up kit (clay bricks, blades, molds, anything really!)

PM me!

**UPDATE**
Thanks for all the offers! I have a kit now, but feel free to PM me if you have any specific requests for trades or anything like that Smiley

Hi guys,

I live in Japan and can fulfill your crafting needs!  Theres a huge 100yen store near me and i went to possibly the biggest craft store in the world yesterday - 5 buildings worth, it took me 7 hours to look through everything!!  I only had a certain budget so it was tough...

anyway im here for another 2 months before i return to the UK, and i would love to swap for stash goodies esp. from canada or the states (as im from the UK)... or in terms of making stuff, maybe its outta the question but i love handmade books.. I havent tried paper crafting so much and ive seen some gorgeous books on here... or lovely craft materials/tools would be wicked.  Let me know what you want!

Thanks  Cheesy
