love the pics, I always have a black cat for some reason, lol.  We've currently got a Maine Coon just over a year old now, he's a nut.  I'd definately like to be in on this swap  Smiley

would the swap be items decorated with black cats or treats for the kitties, or both?

Hendrix is flattered. He has never been so popular.

He has a very sad story. He was brought in to the rescue center as a stray and had to have most of his teeth removed. And he was having fits. Two other families took him home and returned him because he was 'difficult to live with'. Now he lives with me and wears his little sweaters because he hasn't got much fur left and hates the cold.

Expect more silly pictures of him. I am knitting him a hat Smiley

Oh my goodness, I LOVE Hendrix. That is a sad story. At least it has a happy ending. Smiley

I have two black kitties, Smaug and Lily. Smaug is all black, and Lily has a little white spot on her chest, and white hair in her nether regions because her hair grew back white after they spayed her (she also has some white armpit hair somehow). My babies are about four months apart, and they aren't related, but they've grown up together so they're really close. When I got them declawed, they insisted on riding in the same carrier! My mom tells everyone she has grandkittens.

Here is Smaug, helping with my knitting. We got him from a friend of mine who had four kittens. He came up to me and fell asleep in my lap.

And here is Lily being cute. She's usually not this kitten-like, so we had to take a picture while she wasn't complaining. The vet calls her "opinionated." She was a stray outside my MIL's house one Christmas, and she was completely emaciated, and we took her home.

For the swap, my original thought was things decorated with black cats, because my kitchen is done in black cats (I even found some handtowels that are all black with a cat face on them, and I'm going to make curtains for the mini-window.) But I also think it would be cool to do things for the cats. I like the collar idea, but my cats are "naked" because they can take collars off. I even got them some for small dogs that don't have the cat safety release, and they took them off. Speaking of those, did the person who designed them even have a cat?? I've never had a cat who would wear one for more than a couple days before taking it off.

Oh, and I think that any kitty mommy (or daddy) can join the swap! I think being a black cat is an attitude more than anything. And if we do make treats for the babies, I wouldn't want to leave out any little kitties.

I swear my cats help each other take them off. The cat collar (even with the safety release) stayed on just fine when I only had one cat (the black one at that!)

but once they got together: Look Ma! No collars!
