OMG!! I love that!!  I've been looking for something like that.  Where did you get that pattern?  I did a search for LaVonne Rainbow Ribbon Bolero pattern and found nothing.  Is it online?  Who is Lavonne?  Thanks!!

Look a few posts up....LaVonne posted and her website is listed in her sig...I think I bought mine off her website - she has alot of great designs.   And there are different variations to the pattern, so you can add longer sleeves, a collar...etc.  I think i'm gonna make another one for me - its easy and works up fast-fast!

I found Lavonne's URL  (and I bought the bolero pattern)

  lavonne3-1.tripod.com/index.html

This pattern is amazing.  There are a bunch of variations and it includes a wide range of sizes.

I just finished LaVonne's pattern 'Rainbow Ribbon Bolero' - a birthday present for my sister.  I LOVE the pattern, so easy to follow!  I used Citrus thread and an H hook...took about 500 yards to complete.  Pic is pre-blocked....

Is the "Citrus" yarn you used a ribbon yarn?  I love this pattern (just the shape I've been looking for) but I've never had good good results crocheting with ribbon.....   but then maybe I didn't have the right pattern to get the correct effect.

Sherry - its actually J&P Coats crochet thread....its a cotton yard and I think the word 'thread' is misleading - because its thick as worsted weight yarn.  I love crocheting with it - it comes in 400 yard balls, I get mine at Michaels - its not a fancy high-end yarn, but I thought it would be a great yarn for this - because I love the color.  good luck!

Thank you sooooo much for the information!  I made a top from Melissa Leapman's book "Cool Crochet" using that exact cotton same yarn!  In citrus!!  I made the "Stacy" top on page 48.  I received a reply back from Lavonne Best who says that the ribbon yarn she used is a worsted weight yarn, too, and that I should be able to substitute any worsted weight yarn.  I just love your shrug --- I'm going to order the pattern tonight!

Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!  Kiss

"But why don't you scream now?" Alice asked, holding her hands ready to put over her ears again.

"Why, I've done all the screaming already," said the Queen. "What would be the good of having it all over again?"
