It happens. It wasn't hard to fix. The only really annoying part was un-weaving in my tails.

Wow, I'm a little late to this knitalong   Lips sealed

But I really really really love this sweater! I'm thinking I'll use this yarn, because stays pretty warm most of the year:  http://secure.elann.com/productdisp.asp?NAME=Austermann+Mayfair&Season=&Company=&Cat=ALLY&ProductType=5&OrderBy=&Count=7

But I have to wait till I can get it in better colors because I look terrible in yellow and orange, even though I love'em  Cry  And I also can't afford it right now, but hopefully I can start soon!

GRRR...
So I've been knitting like mad for the past few days and i finished the five pieces minus the finishing. So i decided to block the pieces before starting up on the seaming, button band and the collar...I go to measure my pieces and they're way off...I check the guage and it was way off...mind you I did do a swatch and i was bang on, now I have four extra inches and nothing to do with them.  Is there any way that when I seam this I can take it in and have it still look normal? I am so angry!!

hilaryknits:  i have two solutions for you :

1) send the extra 4 inches my way . . my fronts were 4 inches short  Wink

2) if you have access to a surger, just seam it up and run it through that. i do that with my dog sweaters all the time and it works FAB

sorry to hear that you're having problems too  Sad

sadly enough, i think i will have to pick this up next winter. it's sewing season now . . . and about 120 degrees outside. i dont care what the fiber content is . . long sleeves = too hot.   Cheesy.  . . until next october . . . it sits thinking about what it's done.

Mine's mostly done, I just need to seam and knit the bands and stuff. Not looking forward to it. I hate seaming.

I havent started it, but have been considering putting it on my to-knit list, and I love how it looks from the photo. I'm not sure now, because you guys  dont seem too excited about it.

But I would love to see a finished one, so if anybody finishes, please post it!

i've actually been quietly working on this, too. i just don't have a digi-cam right now so can't post any progress shots.  i've gotten through the back and i'm almost done with the second front piece.  it's ended up about an inch and a half shorter than it's supposed to but i'm pretty short so i don't think it'll be a prob.  i just hope i don't have problems with the sleeves.  I'm doing it all in one color so the pattern hasn't been as confusing as it could be.  i'll work on figuring out how to post pics soon.
