.. hmm.. Not sure if the title refers to the purse or its maker. Wink This time, I modified the pattern. I used Patons Brilliant (in Crystal Cream), so I had to come up with my own gauge and rethink the pattern, and then I made it bigger as well.

Full purse:

It's lined with a  champagne colored satin which you can't see (couldn't get a good enough shot of inside the bag). The button is the same fabric. I lovelovelove the way this turned out. At first I was really disappointed with it because it was too long, but I did a second row of decreases around the top which cynched it together more, and I love it. The lining was waaay too difficult because originally I had a pleated lining, but trying to sew it in with the pleats was way too frustrating, so I gave up and did a normal lining.

The handle is tapered.. fatter where it meets the purse (18 sts) and thinner around the handle part (6 sts)

These pictures really don't do justice. I love the way this bag turned out, which is saying a lot. I usually hate the way my projects turn out. It's so shiny and warm. I'm more of a silver person than a gold person, but these colors are a very pleasant mix of warm color gold and champagne.

Absolutely EXCELLENT modifications.  I want one!  Isn't it cool how with the right yarn the pleats just appear when you do all those decreases?  I love that part.
Did you add a strip of the lining to the strap?
