wow all nice monkeys. i must make another one. its so inspiring this thread.
i love the bunnys and especially the dogs. i guess u used a book to make them or if there is a link to a tutorial would you mind posting?

great work everyone, and i have found all the people we give them too LOVE them to bits.
yes lots of character to socks.
i bought more socks today, its cold should i wear them or craft them? hahahah decisions....

And who wears socks in the summer (even if its cold)  make sock monkeys!!

oh its going into winter here. i am in cairns in australia. it was hot today but cooler nights for us locals that is. tourists think its summer lol. but yeah i need a doggy...

Hello all!  I'm new to craftster, and congratulations to this craftalong, as it is my first to post in ever! : )

Here is my sock monkey.  I named him Spencer.
 

He's made from a much beloved and well worn pair of socks I purchased in London after I accidentally dropped a pair of socks in the hotel toilet in Munich. They've been so worn out I can't wear them anymore, so it was perfect for this project.  I did have to darn some spots on him, though.  I used another very worn pair of socks to make his boots and hat, and his bum-patch (that's covering up a large, darned spot).


sorry if this is too image heavy - if so let me know. it's been a pleasure participating, and I hope to do so some more. : )
