I made this dress back in grade ten for a semi-formal, but I lost weight after that, so I've never worn it since. It was strapless then, and I wore it with a string of pearls and long white gloves. I pulled it out the other day and tried to alter it to fit me now. I think I actually did more damage than good though. That tulle overlay makes everything impossible. Oh well, I added a nice strap to keep things up, and now I love it. And I found I can dress it up with fun accessories of just about any colour to hide my poor sewing job and altering attempts. Here's the dress on its own-

And here it is with awesome sashes, earrings, etc. I like the hot pink look the best. It's so much fun-

And the swing skirt in action-

Yay. Details: the dress is crepe-back satin with a glittery tulle overlay. It closes with a zipper in the back. I made it without a pattern (shame on me) three days before the dance (more shame on me). I love it though, and I wish I could wear it all the time!

Thanks for looking!

I have to agree, the pink look is my favorite, but there are oh so many possibilities. As they say, every woman needs a black dress...

Shocked Super cute! I LOVE things that you can change the look of by switching out the accessories (is that why my closet is filled with solid colored shirts?)

That is so cute =).  It looks so fun.  I like it with the red sash the best, but then again I'm a sucker or anything black and red =P.  The pink look is the cutest of them all though <3
