That is the most ridiculously grossly awesome lamp I've ever seen. Love love love.

I also love how you keep referring to the band as "Tull." I used to work in a music store back in high school in trailerpark-land and confused rednecks would always be like "I can't find the Jethro Tull CDs, shouldn't he be inder 'T.'" Oh lord.

I have a special place in my heart for lamps, especially the reconstructed kind...so this ROCKS!

Ha!  That's a good one.  Falls into the "which one's Pink" catagory doesn't it?

Mimi, good luck, hon!  It took me 20 years to convince Mr Fidget that he really didn't need to hang on to his 8 tracks.  Smiley

If you do make a lamp, or any thing else for that matter, please post a picture!

Oh, yes.  He was busy living in the past (hehe sorry for the pun) and was holding on to them for dear life.  Gee whiz, it was just last year I talked him into giving the Commodore 64 and Vic 20 (printer, software etc) to our friends' son.   Roll Eyes  No, we weren't using them; yes, they were taking up mucho closet space.

The parts I can give you guidance on are the lamp shade came from Lowe's and the braid came from Wal-Mart.  Sorry, the pink and bright green 8 tracks you'll have to scout out on your own. Smiley  The lamp parts came from a $6 Goodwill lamp that I disassembled and used for parts.

If you do use an 8-track player (or other piece of electronics) as the base, either totally gut it or slide everything out and plan where you can drill holes and not hit anything.  There was a surprising amount of empty space inside the 8-track player.

Good luck with it!
