 Cool
So the hubby finally decided it was time to get rid of the 8 track tapes and the player.  They'd been taking up closet space for far too long and it was time for them to go!

While boxing them up for a trip to the Goodwill collection box, I was struck with an idea; you might say a light came on.

Here is the results:

By the way, the 8-track player still works!

Thanks!  It was a lot of fun running down an old lamp to deconstruct and then making the perfect shade for it.

And drilling holes in 8-tracks is very theraputic!  (But there are still more in the box.)

Fidget, I love it!!!

I think it's brilliant that you were able to discover a new purpose for something that would have otherwise ended up being tossed out in the process of cleaning out your cupboards Smiley

So, technically, does that still count as 'de-stashing' if you didn't actually get rid or it?  Wink

Loves2experiment, it's de-stashing in that it no longer takes up closet space and now has a place of honor on the dresser in my bedroom.   Grin

Sonjaboo, I was trying to pick my favorites out of hubby's collection.  And the Tull and ELP tapes were the most colorful.  Wheee!

Hope there's not an 8-track lover out there seeing this and banging their head over a destroyed Tull collection.   Tongue

Very original, and you didn't have to throw them away, instead you can look at them and bring back some great memories relating to your music

Thanks, DevilGirl1977. Smiley  It's fortunate that the hubby and I had/have similar taste in music, or these probably would have gone straight to Goodwill without a second thought.  My 8-tracks got tossed when I totalled my 1974 Gremlin (with the in-dash 8-track player.)  (Roll Eyes I was such a nerd!) So it was just a bit of nostalgia that hit when I was getting ready to toss hubby's.
