Feeling the need to crochet...

« on: March 19, 2006 08:49:24 AM »

I'm trying to come up with a logo type design to sew on to my crafty things I make but I'm having a bit of a hard time of it.

Which one of these four looks the best and are there any ways in which you think it could be improved?

I thought maybe a smaller white heart in the bigger one,  don't know.

Opinions please Smiley

What type of things do you make Sarah?   To be completely honest and frank, I think the "heart and Te Amo" idea is somewhat old-fashioned.  If you're an old-fashioned gal then fine, but if you want to sell to a younger market, then you could do no better than look at some other brand labels out there in the BWW (big wide world).  Don't be afraid to copy, and try to change it to what YOUR product brand should be.

I hope you don't mind my input on this - I sure don't wish to offend in any way.
GOOD LUCK in your future venture,
Jo

Just my two cents, but I think that the fonts look pretty generic.  Maybe visit dafont.com/en to get some more unique ones.  Beware, though.  That website can be hella addictive.

I like their simplicity.  I say leave the heart the way it is.

I personally think the third one down is the best of the 4, and I like the simplicity too. It would help if we got an idea of what you'd be putting them on--you want a logo to reflect your style/sensibility without being too busy/distracting.

Thanks everyone.

I'm a sort of mixed crafter. I make books but I love to sew coin purses and wallets too, and I am trying to start making bags of some sort. Does that help you at all?

I do agree that it's old fashioned, but I like simplicity, I'm just in-need of some ideas, I will have to look around the shops Smiley

I like the first and last ones best.  I think I'd like the heart if it were a bit smaller.

Best of luck,

Hi, I just had a play around with your name......

I've always like borders on labels - I think it ties it all together.
I also played around with the font size - The capitals are twice the font size of the lower case, and I dropped them down a bit so they're centred in the box. The hearts are from another dingbat font set, so I just played around with their size too.

Anyway, these are a couple of ideas to get you started - feel free to use any (or all) ideas from them.

A good idea is to look in magazines, in your wardrobe, on food labels etc, and pick out all the labels you like the look of, then really study them closely to see what it is you like about them..... the colours, the images, the layout, the fonts, the use of white (blank) space, the simplicity, the complexity etc etc.

You might find that once you start playing around with ideas, you can't stop! (That's how I get anyway  Wink)

Good luck in whatever you choose......

Wow thanks, I love the second one you did, that's kind of like the one I orginally had in my head, but couldn't find a font I liked.

I'm going to have a play around later, I've been haveing a good think all day Smiley

Blackheathen - what did you create those labels/logos in?  I've been toying around with some of my own but am not sure what to use for layout.

Thanks!

I like blackheathen's designs. But for your 3rd image, if you made the heart smaller, and stuck it between the two words, I think that would be nice.
